Silver Sable & Black Cat Movie Coming

Silver Sable & Black Cat Movie Coming

Sony Pictures are planning a round of Spider-Man related spin-off stand alone movies in the coming years, which apparently WON'T be connected at all to the actual Spider-Man movies (don't ask me why, it sounds like a baaaaaad idea).
The first in line is the Tom Hardy led Venom movie, which is supposed to shoot later this year, to release in 2018. Next on the agenda is a Silver Sable & Black Cat movie.
Splash Report now got information form a source close to the film's production, which apparently revealed the story for the planned Silver Sable & Black Cat movie. Check it out:

"Seven years after Mendel Stromm (a.k.a. Robot Master) and his two henchmen (The Scorpion and The Tarantula) killed her father, Silver Sable is hired by the government to find Felicia Hardy. The Black Cat, a master hacker and thief, has apparently stolen valuable secret information. She’s hiding in the lawless and dangerous triple frontier area between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Once there, Sable ask her old contact Dmitri Smerdyakov (a.k.a. The Chameleon) to locate her. But it seems, the government are not the only ones looking for the Black Cat. It seems Felicia had made a deal Stromm to save her father from a Russian prison and she’s been genetically enhanced. Now, the mad scientist wants his prized experiment back because his financier (cough Norman Osborn cough) wants a return on his investment."

I mean, I am of course willing to be proven wrong, but to me this sounds like a bad idea, to do spin off movies of Spidey characters and NOT tying it into anything directly Spider-Man related. Reminds me of the 2004 Halle Berry Catwoman movie, which also did play out in a world without Batman.
Yeah. Bad idea.

Zack Snyder Steps Off Justice League Movie

ack Snyder Steps Off Justice League Movie

Zack Snyder announced in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter last week that he will step away from the post production of the upcoming Justice League film, which he directed, because of the tragic death of his oldest daughter two months ago.

“In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was the way through it. The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all-consuming. And in the last two months, I’ve come to the realization … I’ve decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me. They are all having a hard time. I’m having a hard time.”

Joss Whedon (writer/director of the Avengers) is going to take over for Snyder to oversee the post production process of the film. Zack already worked with Whedon on a few reshoot scenes to be filmed in Summer, so this moves makes all sense in the world.
WB, the studio behind the film, fully supports the decision, as stated by WB pictures president Toby Emmerich.

“The directing is minimal and it has to adhere to the style and tone and the template that Zack set. We’re not introducing any new characters. It’s the same characters in some new scenes. He’s handing the baton to Joss, but the course has really been set by Zack. I still believe that despite this tragedy, we’ll still end up with a great movie.”

Zack also talked about the JL film being in good hands, even if that is, of course, the least of his worries in this moment.

“I want the movie to be amazing, and I’m a fan, but that all pales pretty quickly in comparison.I know the fans are going to be worried about the movie, but there are seven other kids that need me. In the end, it’s just a movie. It’s a great movie. But it’s just a movie."

Our condolences go out to the Snyder family during this trying time.
