New Lego Batman Spot Shows More Joker
The Lego Batman movie is only 2 months away right now, so of course we get more looks at the film! The newest trailer shows us more of Zack Galifinakis' Lego version of the Joker! Check out the clip above!

First Spider-man Homecoming Trailer
Spider-man is surely the fastest rebooted superhero of all time, when we still had Tobey Maguire just ten years ago, the Andrew Garfield and now Tom Holland, as the first Spidey to actually interact with the greater MCU! The first trailer of the new Spider-man, who we have been introduced to in this years Captain America: Civil War, has been released and you can check it out above! It gives us a look at Peter in high school, his relationship with Tony Stark and even a few glimpses at Michael Keaton's the Vulture!
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Justice League 2 Pushed Back For Solo Batman Movie
Originally Justice League had been announced as the first part in a two parter story, but those plans have changed sometime this year. Now, the Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on why that happened. Zack Snyder will follow up his JL movie with a smaller scale project called the Photograph.
"Photograph centers on a war correspondent in Afghanistan who is the only one to survive an attack on a group of Americans. When a special ops soldier in search of a family member shows up, the two team up, with the correspondent hoping to score the story of his life."
The original plan had been for Snyder to start immediately on JL2 after JL1, but since WB/DC wanted to make space on their slate for the, probably more important Ben Affleck directed Batman solo movie, they pushed back JL2 a while and also turned the first movie into a stand alone film.
I am pretty sure that they also want to see how JL will be received by critics and fans alike, since BvS, Snyder's last film, did get mostly negative reviews. If Snyder hits JL out of the park in the eyes of the mainstream, I am sure they will try to have him make JL2 rather sooner than later.
Tim Miller Explains Why He Left Deadpool 2
Director Tim Miller, who directed Deadpool, left the production of the sequel rather surprisingly this year, because of cited creative differences. After that, there have been a lot of rumors about the true reasons behind his exit, chief among them was the saying that Miller wanted to supersize the sequel and turn it into a new direction, while Reynolds wanted to do more of the same. Now Miller talked about this in a recent Q&A session with Collider.
"I just want to say one thing to the geek audience out there, because it’s important to me what the geeks and nerds of the world think because they are my brothers and sisters. I didn’t want to make some stylized movie that was 3 times the budget. If you read the internet — who cares, really? But for those of you who do, I wanted to make the same kind of movie that we made before because I think that’s the right movie to make for the character. So don’t believe what you read on the internet. I wanted to do the same thing [as the first movie]. Kyle Chandler was not going to be Cable. All this stuff that I read kind of kills me."
He also spoke about the rumors of "scary fights" with Ryan Reynolds during post production, which also have been rumored to be the cause of his exit.
"Even when some people go, “The movie was really hard to make.” The movie was a joy to make. I think you see it on screen. We all had such a good time. We had a few arguments in post, but nothing more than usual. The crew was so great, everybody was going to come back and we were going to have such a good time and the idea that it was a difficult movie…It wasn’t, it was a joy, and it was the best experience of my life. I wish them nothing but good — I hope it’s great. I hope it’s e a great movie. Because I love the character and I think it’s great, and I love all the actors and I want to see them successful again. I haven’t met David, but he’s a great guy from everything I’ve heard. I want nothing but the best for the character. And for Fox, too. They deserve to make more money. They need to make more money [laughs]. They were great. They were terrific."
Sounds pretty amicable to me, but Miller seems to behave like a pro, so we are no closer to knowing what really happened. For me, the fact that Miller left a franchise that obviously means so much to him, still seems like bad news. We will find out when Deadpool 2 will hit theatres in 2018.
James Gunn Talks Baby Groot
With Marvel Studios recent release of the new Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2 trailer, geekdom has been on fire with love for Baby Groot, the new, baby sized version of the sentient tree from the first movie! Yes, he is undoubtedly the cutest thing ever, but what a lot of people thought when they saw him was along the lines of "Oh, that surely was a move to sell more toys!". James Gunn, director of both Guardians movies now talked about that a bit on his Facebook page.
"To be honest, when I was first working on the script for Vol. 2 I was planning on it being years after the first movie and for little Groot to be a grown Groot. But there was something missing. First of all, I thought there was a lot of development the group needed to go through as a group - and it would be a shame for the audience to miss it. And, secondly, for whatever reason, Groot just wasn't working. It was then I came upon the idea of having Vol. 2 take place very shortly after the first film and for Groot to still be Baby Groot, with quite a lot to learn. Even though I had already long-ago-decided on the other characters involved, this change opened up the whole movie for me and it suddenly all came together. I fell in love with the script for Vol. 2, and I felt like we were creating something very special."
"When I approached Marvel Studios with my idea for Vol. 2 I was afraid of the involvement of Ego the Living Planet - a rather, uh, broad character in the 616 universe of Marvel Comics. I was afraid of the inclusion of Mantis and Ayesha, and more prominent roles for Nebula and Yondu. But I was even more afraid of approaching them with the concept that Baby Groot, and not Groot, would be a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Yes, perhaps it seems like a hole-in-one idea now, but Groot was the most popular character in the first film, and sometimes when something works studios are more than a little reluctant to change."
"To my happy surprise, my partners at Marvel were more than supportive about the big swings in the story of Vol. 2. They seemed to instinctively know, like I did, that what matters in the Guardians franchise is to keep giving people the unexpected..."
"All that said, I'm not an idiot. I knew if Baby Groot worked, the world would want Baby Groot toys and figures and plushies. But that certainly didn't seem like a certainty when I was alone in my office conceiving of a story, and it most definitely was not the driving force of the decision. I, like so many of you through the trailer alone, had fallen in love with the little dude - even though at that point he was only in my head."
Sounds genuine, even if I am still very sure the main reason for Marvel to agree with this change of Groot were giant dollar signs in Mickey's eyes, which is not a bad thing, if the idea get's used in the right way, which the trailer seems to show so far!
